Vitamin Angels Earns Charity Navigator 4-Star Rating, Ranks Top 3% of Charities

Goleta, CA—Vitamin Angels announced that is has earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the 10th time. According to a press release, Vitamin Angels is among the top 3% of charities to receive the designation 10 consecutive times, showing its commitment to upholding sector best practices and executing its mission in a financially efficient way. 

Charity Navigator, which says it is America’s largest independent charity evaluator, uses objective analysis to award only the most fiscally responsible and transparent organizations a 4-star rating. “Only a quarter of charities rated by Charity Navigator receive the distinction of our 4-star rating,” said Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator, in the release. “This adds Vitamin Angels to a preeminent group of charities working to overcome our world’s most pressing challenges. Based on its 4-star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity when they decide to support Vitamin Angels.”

Looking at the work done in 202, Vitamin Angels reports: With 94% of expenses, cash, and gift-in-kind going towards programs and services, Vitamin Angels reached 60 million undernourished pregnant women and children in 65+ countries around the world, including the U.S., in 2020. The organization also stressed the ongoing need due to the impacts of COVID-19, noting that though the spread has slowed in the U.S., many countries around the world are still greatly impacted: As Vitamin Angels continues to implement its programs worldwide, donors can be confident that their support has a direct impact on the most vulnerable populations during this health crisis.
