Washington, D.C.—The Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) has announced the appointment of Douglas “Duffy” MacKay as Senior Vice President, Dietary Supplements.
MacKay has over two decades of commercial and non-profit experience in nutrition research, supplement regulation, policy development, and association leadership. He was most recently the SVP, Scientific & Regulatory Affairs, at CV Sciences; before that, he served the Council for Responsible Nutrition for a decade, leading the association’s Scientific & Regulatory Affairs function. He has authored or co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles in professional journals.
“I have always admired CHPA’s recognition that safety, product integrity, and industry transparency are key tenants to building trust in consumer healthcare products,” MacKay said in the press release. “These tenants align with my personal values, and I am honored for this opportunity to advance CHPA’s dietary supplements agenda. I look forward to being part of CHPA’s proven track record of advancing self-care broadly while accelerating dietary supplement priorities with surgical precision.”
MacKay will lead CHPA’s cross-functional dietary supplements team, directing strategy, shaping policy, and collaborating with stakeholders to help protect and grow this category on behalf of the CHPA membership. He begins work on October 18, 2021, and will report directly to CHPA President and CEO, Scott Melville.
