Washington, D.C—The Natural Products Association (NPA) has been granted observer status by Codex Alimentarius Commission, according to a press release.
This recognition means that NPA will have the opportunity to contribute expertise, comments, and recommendations to advance health standards worldwide—including supporting updates to international food and dietary supplement standards to they align with the latest science and ensuring fair practices in the food trade to reduce trade barriers.

Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D., President and CEO of NPA, said in the release: “This is an important step in developing science-based global standards for foods and dietary supplements so people worldwide will have the information and nutrition they need to live healthier lives.
