Madrid, Spain—Biosearch Life has received organic certification for its L. fermentum CECT5716 LC40 strain, according to a press release.

The press release notes that the market for organic products has grown in recent years, thanks to increased consumer understanding of health and the environment. The market is forecast to grow by 16.44% CAGR over the 2020-2025 forecast period.

LC40 is a patented probiotic strain isolated from human breast milk, which has been shown in clinical trials to protect infants from respiratory infections and to promote breastfeeding. The press release says that the organic certification “guarantees that the product meets all established requirements and protocols, such as the best environmental practices, a high level of biodiversity, the preservation of natural resources, the application of exacting animal welfare standards, and production in accordance with the preferences of certain consumers for products obtained from natural substances and processes.”
