Mission Viejo, CA— A study on Wakunaga of America’s Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract’s ability to reduce risks for heart disease was recently presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Session 2012 conference.
Researchers tested the formula on participants with highly stressful lifestyles (in this case, 65 middle-aged firemen with previously established cardiovascular disease) to see if there was an effect on mental stress, inflammation and atherosclerosis. One group took two capsules of the supplement (300 mg of Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract and 30 mg of CoQ10) twice a day; the other took a placebo. After a year, the firefighters’ mental stress dropped by as much as 84% in the Kyolic group, with additional decreases noted in inflammation and coronary artery calcification. Researchers concluded that Kyolic could make a significant impact on reducing risk factors for heart disease.
As part of the larger FAITH Randomized Clinical Trial, this study coincides with others investigating the heart health benefits of Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract on firefighters, among whom half of on-duty deaths are cardiac related, according to Wakunaga.
