UNFIis voluntarily recalling five-pound bags of its Wild Harvest Organic All-Purpose Flour, Unbleached, with a Best By date of 1/8/20 and the UPC Code 711535509158. During routine FDA sampling of the product, results were found to be positive for E. coli. To date, UNFI has not received any direct consumer reports of confirmed illnesses related to the product.

E. coli can cause serious and sometimes life-threatening infections in infants, older people pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems. Common symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea, and vomiting, which develop within three or four days of eating the contaminated food. The illness usually lasts a week and most people recover without treatment.
The products should be returned to the place of purchase. Hodgson Mill reminds consumers to never eat products containing raw flour, and to thoroughly wash hands, work surfaces, and utensils after contact with raw flour.
