On September 25, in California, Lycored created a wall filled with hundreds of marigolds arranged in the shape of a footprint. Employees handed out those marigolds along with marigold seed packs. As they were given out, the footprint shrunk to reveal an image of one of the company’s farms. The wall, the press release states, was created to provide a visual reminder of how planting and plant-based nutrition can help reduce our carbon footprint.
Lycored has been taking steps to maximize the sustainability of its tomato-growing operations, recycling 73% of the water used to grow the tomatoes and reducing energy consumption by 17%.
