Irvine, CA—BioCell Collagen was found in a new study to visibly reduce common signs of skin aging within 12 weeks of daily use, according to a press release. BioCell Collagen is composed of hydrolyzed collagen type-II, chondroitin sulfate, and hyaluronic acid.

The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, published inAlternative Therapies in Health and Medicine,was performed on 113 females, aged 39-59. Participants were randomly assigned to the placebo group or the intervention group; those in the intervention group received a .5g BioCell Collagen supplement twice daily.

BioCell Collagen, when compared to a placebo:
  • Significantly reduce facial lines and wrinkles and crow’s feet lines and wrinkles
  • Increased skin elasticity and increased cutaneous collagen content by 12%
  • Improved indicators associated with a more youthful skin appearance based on visual grading and wrinkle width
  • Decreased skin dryness and erythema
No difference was found between supplement and placebo for skin-surface water content or retention.
