Other studies have demonstrated improvements in working memory and brain-derived neurotrophic factor. This study is the first one, however, to be performed on older adults, aged 60-75 years old.
Published in BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies, the multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study investigated the effect of six months ofPersicaria minor extract on 30 adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Each subject consumed either 250mg of IQ200 or a placebo twice daily. Cognitive function and mood were assessed at baseline, three months, and six months using neuropsychological tests and Profile of Mood State questionnaire.
