Los Angeles, CA—KSM-66 Ashwagandha can be a safe, effective solution to insomnia and the anxiety that accompanies it, according to a new double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled human clinical study published in Cureus.
According to a press release on the topic, 60 subjects with insomnia were randomized in a 2:1 ratio to receive either KSM-66 in a 300mg dose twice daily or an identical placebo, both for a period of 10 weeks. Participants monitored rest and activity patterns through sleep logs, self-reporting, and actigraphy.
Researchers found statistically significant improvements in sleep quality in terms of sleep onset, latency, total sleep time, wake after sleep onset, total time in bed, sleep efficiency, subjective sleep quality assessment, mental alertness on rising, and the Pittsburgh sleep quality index. Those who consumed KSM-66 also saw a significant reduction in stress, a finding consistent with several previous studies that showed that KSM-66 significantly reduced the concentration of the stress hormone cortisol in the blood.
