Taiyo, NutriScience Help Food & Bev Brands Capitalize on Elderberry’s Popularity

Taiyo and NutriScience have partnered to help food and beverage formulators take advantage of elderberry’s popularity, according to a press release, which notes that sales of elderberry grew 150% in 2020, as per the American Botanical Council.

The companies have created ElderMune, a combination of elderberry plus Taiyo’s Sunfiber, allowing the product to deliver both immune and digestive health benefits. The combination has synergistic effects: The Sunfiber supports absorption of the elderberry, while replacing some of the natural elderberry fiber lost during the juicing process. ElderMune juice powder is 100% water soluble.

Taiyo will supply both conventional and certified organic ElderMune to food and beverage companies in North and South America. Other Taiyo ingredients—Suntheanine, Sunfiber, and SunActive—have made the transition from supplements to food and beverage ingredients.
