Riviera Beach, FL—Battle Bars has announced itsNominate a Herocampaign. The veteran-owned protein bar brand aims to recognize everyday heroes, serve others, and unite the nation through positivity, according to a press release.

“The program was started to bring local people together to nominate someone they believe is making a difference in their respective community," said Alex Witt, CEO of Battle Bars, in the press release. "We believe that it’s important for us to rise up and recognize the local community heroes who are making positive impacts in their city. Motivation is a hell of a thing to have. Let it spread and watch our cities, and eventually, our country get better."

The first hero was Patrick Zamarripa, who served in the navy and then joined the Dallas Police Department before being fatally shot during an ambush in 2016. Witt wrote on the Battle BArs website: "Pat was a husband, father, lifelong patriot, and my brother. He is and will always be my 'fight' when driving Battle Bars success. My hope is for every Battle Bars consumer to learn of my friend and take a piece of his kindness with them in their life journey." His full story can be found here.

Once a hero is chosen, their name and story will be put on the Battle Bar's website and promotional packaging materials. Goherefor more information and to nominate a hero.
